Marble restoration is what is a process that is done to a marble floor that has been not properly maintained over time. What happens is that the looses it shine, the floor will need to honed to bring back the shine. What is honing you might be asking? Honing is the process when you figure out what the deepest scratch on the floor is and determine what type of marble resin diamond or in some instances what type of metal diamond pad is needed to remove the scratch. Once you determined the right diamond that will get the scratch out it is then time to use finer and finer diamonds to remove all the scratches then powder polish the floor and then seal the floor if that is what the customer likes. I would for sure pay the money and have the floor sealed myself. Sealing the floor after polishing helps makes the floor repellent to stains. This is important so that a liquid doesn’t penetrate deep into the marble floor. Since we also do a lot of terrazzo restoration we have seen many stains travel so deep into the terrazzo floor that the stain doesn’t come out.
